Underground Brown was founded by Tony and Vicky Brown in 1992 to leverage Tony’s 12 years of experience in underground utility installation techniques during his work with Telecom.
The company’s purchase of a directional drill marked the first time a private operator or any company offered directional drilling services in the South Island.
Through excellence in performance and commitment to superior customer service, that “one-man band” with just one boring machine has grown into an employer of around 130 people deploying 20 boring machines in a wide variety of applications.
Underground Brown is the largest directional drilling resource in the South Island. The company meets a steady level of demand for its trenchless expertise throughout the South Island.
Underground Brown remains a proud Christchurch family-owned company and is committed to lending its expertise to the rebuild of the earthquake-damaged city, as well as maintaining a high level of service to its client base of 22 years throughout the top half of the South Island.
